This week I reached over 1000+ followers! To celebrate I am giving away one of the 8.5x11” posters that I’ll be selling at MOCCAfest next weekend. Everyone who reblogs this post will have a chance to pick any one of these 5 posters. On April 24th at 6pm (NY time) I’ll pick a random winner and contact them through their Ask box for info on where to ship. Good luck everyone! Also, if you have a Facebook please visit my page!

Only Gold Fields could make these swans look less than vicious. They are out for blood.

Far and away my favourite artist, Del Kathryn Barton.
You may remember her as the 2008 Archibald Prize winner, or the artist at the centre of the ridiculous controversy over GoMA’s Optimism exhibition.
I remember her as the artist who appeared on ABC’s (now defunct?) Sunday Arts program one lazy afternoon when I was living in the outback and literally knocked the air from my lungs.
Here are some of my favourite pieces from her 2005 Exhibition Thank You For Loving Me and 2008’s The Whole of Everything.
I saw her on that Sunday Arts program too, some of the things she said have stayed with me till this day. Such a powerful and memorable insight into making art.
I watched it recently on the ABC website - I am in love with her work <3

The beginnings of my second collage assignment. It was inspired by Florence and the Machine’s song: “My Boy Builds Coffins” (There are two halves to this, there are coffins on the other side…)
